Data We Process

  • Account data (e.g., username, email address)
  • Contact and communication data
  • Content data (e.g., profile info, posts, messages)
  • Location data (only if you grant permission)
  • Usage and log data (e.g., access times, technical events)

Why We Process Data

  • To provide and operate app features
  • To enable spontaneous and planned meetups
  • To show nearby activities when location is enabled
  • To handle reports and enforce app rules
  • To improve stability and usability
  • To communicate with users and provide support

Location Data

You do not have to share location at all times. If you choose spontaneous mode, sharing your approximate location with other users is required to find nearby people and activities.

Please use spontaneous mode only in public places. When you are done meeting people, or you are no longer in a public place, exit spontaneous mode.

Reports and Safety

Users can report content or other users in the app, or by email at support@join-me-app.com. Reports are acknowledged automatically and reviewed manually by the app operator.

JoinMe provides tools and guidance, but users remain responsible for their own decisions, conduct, and personal safety during meetups.

Legal Bases (GDPR)

  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), where required
  • Contract performance / pre-contractual steps (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR)
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)

Data Sharing

We may share data with service providers that support app operation (e.g., hosting or technical infrastructure), where necessary and under applicable legal safeguards.

International Transfers

If data is transferred outside the EU/EEA, we apply appropriate safeguards in line with applicable law (for example, adequacy decisions and/or standard contractual clauses, where relevant).

Retention

We store personal data only as long as necessary for the stated purposes, legal obligations, dispute handling, and security requirements.

Your Rights

You may have rights under GDPR, including:

  • Access to your personal data
  • Correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion of data where legally applicable
  • Restriction of processing
  • Data portability
  • Objection to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Withdrawal of consent (where processing is based on consent)
  • Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
